Since I’ve visitied Tate Modern and seen the works of Surrealism artists, I was fascinated by the images of Surrealism. I started the project with the book of Hans Bellmer. Especially his work named ‘the doll’ was so sensational to me. It looked very eccentric but at the same time it was very erotic. The detached part of women's body and the structure of mixing the part of seperate body gave me some sexual imagination. While researching Surrealism art, I found the common thing that Surrealism artists usually use the image of naked women. Surrealism is based on the unconcious dream and imagination. I think women's body had them imagine beyond the real like imagining the woman's body under her clothe. And Hans Bellmer accentuated that sexual imagination by making a doll sculpture. Because doll can't speak and move and always be situated in the passive position. They are weared and moved by person who control them. I think that work implys the idea of fetishism and sexualism, and this idea is represented in many of Surrealism art.
Salvador Dali (1904-1989) "Venus de Milo aux Pompons"
As Dali place the drawer that man can grab and open on the venus' body (breast), I wanted to edit sexual imagination to my clothe like Surrealist did.
